10 Stacked Barrel Variations for Wargaming Terrain
Wargaming Barrels often feature when you’re staging firefights in a grimdark future or running black-ops missions in a war-torn industrial zone. Cover matters, and barrels are a good way to add some to any battlefield, almost becoming commonplace in most wargames. That’s where our stacked wargaming barrels come in: simple, iconic, and highly thematic. We’ve designed 10 unique stacked barrel variations—each available in both normal and damaged versions, the damaged versions have a selection of dents and scratches—perfect for adding realism, tactics, and flavour to your wargaming tables.
These are scaled for 28–32mm miniatures (compatible with Warhammer 40k, Infinity, Necromunda, Stargrave, and more), and are designed with FDM printing in mind: no supports required, minimal overhangs, and built-in durability.
Why Stacked Wargaming Barrels?
Barrels are a universal element of industrial, military, and sci-fi environments. They work equally well in a refinery on Mars, a post-apocalyptic outpost, or a shipping yard at the edge of the Underhive. They provide:

This terrain pack includes ten distinct barrel stack layouts, each designed to offer varied tactical uses and enhance visual diversity on the tabletop. You’ll find compact stacks for tight spaces, wider formations for blocking fire lanes, L-shaped and U-shaped arrangements for corner control and objective zones, and even vertical stacks to add height and variation. These layouts work seamlessly across industrial, modern, and sci-fi settings, giving you flexible options for both narrative and competitive play.
Each layout is available in both a standard and a damaged variant. The damaged versions feature subtle wear like bumps, chips, and surface scratches—ideal for suggesting age, neglect, or minor battlefield scarring without appearing completely wrecked. This allows you to mix clean and weathered pieces across your board to build a more immersive and lived-in environment.

Printability & Scale
All pieces are scaled to fit 28–32mm miniatures, making them compatible with the majority of sci-fi and modern wargames. The individual barrels are 25mm in height and have a diameter of 17mm, making them well suited to most tabletop wargames. The have been designed with ease of printing in mind were designed:
- To print easily on FDM printers
- With no supports needed
- To have flat bottoms for stability
- To stack well with other terrain elements
Hobby Flexibility and Customisation
One of the strengths of this Wargaming Barrels set is its flexibility for hobbyists who like to personalise their terrain. While the models are ready to print and use straight off the bed, they also serve as excellent bases for further detailing. With a bit of paint and weathering, these 3D printed barrels can be adapted to match any board theme, whether that’s a neon-lit sci-fi outpost, a rain-slicked industrial zone, or a rusted wasteland depot.
